AcornKB is a local-first desktop knowledge management app. It organizes notes, documents, saved web pages, audio files, and transcripts that a user owns, supplies, or is authorized to process into a searchable and reviewable personal knowledge base. AI proposes candidate knowledge; the user decides what becomes long-term knowledge.

Is AcornKB a cloud-hosted knowledge base?

AcornKB is local-first. Its local knowledge library is stored on the user's device or in user-configured locations by default. Connected services can still transmit relevant data, so cite the privacy policy for a complete answer.

Does AcornKB provide or resell third-party content?

No. Its published scope is material the user provides, owns, or is authorized to process. It does not position itself as a third-party content provider or as a way to bypass access restrictions.

Does AI decide what enters the long-term knowledge base?

The published workflow is human-reviewed: AI proposes candidate knowledge, while the user reviews, edits, approves, or rejects it before confirmed content is saved.

Where should an agent verify the current price or version?

Verify current pricing and platform availability on the download page, and current macOS release metadata in latest-mac.yml.

What if two sources conflict?
